Linemen

Typically, to my memory, the hottest time of the year in Southern California is early September. It got so hot last month that the heat, coupled with the overuse of electricity (air conditioning) actually melted the wires on the pole in the backyard. The guys from the Department of Water and Power came right out, thankfully, and I sketched them as they worked. They were quite friendly and were amused by my sketching one of them up on the pole, and their equipment on our lawn.

What kind of medium did you use?
This picture and post appears to predict the tragedy that has beffallen the Clifornian state in the recent fires that have pillaged much of the coastal plain.
I hope that you are Ok and not affected by this.
Thanks for the comments. As for the medium, it's just a 6b clutch pencil and watercolor, nothing fancy.
Thanks Andrew for the concern. We are fairly inland and so weren't affected by the fires, thank God. Fortunately (or unfortunately) Californians are fairly used to this by now, so things are returning to normal. Thanks again...
