Jane and Lily on the piano

They learned the first two bars of a Beethoven piano concerto and played it over and over and over and OVER AND OVER again.... Ha. The great part was they were having a good time and were sitting in one place long enough to sketch. At one point, when I was sketching her hand, Lily made her doll play it. Another sketch done standing up.

Yum---there's that line quality that I adore again. You really communicate the love you have for your family in these sketches, too.

Brilliant. I can't remember how you said you got this colour effect, but I absolutley love it. And you got so much detail in -I noticed the doll before reading the notes!

I've been looking at some books of portraits and watercolors from the Victorian era and this reminds me of them in a way. I would love to see this as a painting. It's so moving and charming. A real treasure!
